Rain 1.05"

The first of what are supposed to be three storms blew through last night leaving only 1.05" in my backyard. There was widespread news reporting on the storm, including flooding on the streets of Hollywood (typical), flash flood warnings in burned areas (expected), and warnings to stay away from the La River (with white water rescue folk and poorly lit pictures of running water in the river). This AM, the LA Times reports little damage.

The rain started in late afternoon and came with hard winds that drove it under normally protected areas. Still, it fell at far lower rates than I was expecting, given the news hype.
