Poppies are the stars of the meadow right now. There's Blue-eyed grass and Yarrow mixed in with a couple other things, but its the poppies that are taking the prizes right now. I'm adding supplemental water and hoping for one last storm to give me some additional punch with the blooms.
My only regret is that I wish I had not used the inland poppy variety.
Nice meadow! I have a meadow area planted that has yet to bloom, just a few Baby Blue Eyes, as I am at 3000'. Now, why not the inland poppy?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI'm about 3 miles from the beach, so the coastal variety of poppy is more appropriate. That said, it still looks good.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you Brent. With thanks to SEALAB, I started out with the coastal variety of poppy. It is a consistent winner in my 3 miles from the beach yard.
As of this writing, my meadow front yard is hitting it's stride. Bird's eye gilia, tidytips and the above mentioned poppies are starting to bloom.
