Native Spaces

The TPF newsletter came today with its usual list of interesting classes. One of the class lecturers is Keegan Roehr, who runs Native Spaces, a California native garden design service. I'm pretty sure that I met Keegan on last year's TPF Native Plant tour.

The Native Spaces web site has nice photographs of various gardens under the projects link. I believe it is the two Venice projects ("Venice Front Yard" and "Backyard Retreat", which are actually the same home) that I visited last year.

  1. We happened to wander past these gardens on Pearl Street in Santa Monica the other day:

There was a flowering azalea plant in the "traditional garden" that I thought was very beautiful. But, thanks to the signage pointing out the waste of resources necessary to grow it, I immediately felt guilty for liking it.
